Open to Submissions

Welcome to Outcast, a brand new, in-your-face, no frills poetry journal. The plan is to publish new poems every week. The goal is to elevate contributing poets by featuring their bios and photos, and spreading the word about their work. The website is meant to look clean and simple, so that the focus can be on the words.

Each poem will be short and accessible. Future plans for Outcast include: nominating contributing poets for awards such as Best of Net, an end of the year Outcast anthology in which selected contributors will receive their own copies, and an end of year poetry party in Philadelphia, PA.

Here’s some famous poets to keep in mind when submitting to Outcast: Etheridge Knight, Gwendolyn Brooks, Amiri Baraka, Sonia Sanchez, Pablo Neruda, William Carlos Williams, Langston Hughes, Claude McKay, Adrienne Rich, Seamus Heaney, Eavan Boland, June Jordan, AI, Ana Castillo, Lamont B. Steptoe, and Dennis Brutus, just to randomly name a few.

Please visit the “Submit” page and follow the guidelines.
